So after sound designing more loops for the Ableton back end I just got my hands on the Storm app for my Analog Rytm. Loving the euclidean beat generator and everything randomizer. Just about to put some of my own samples into the on board memory and sit down with it for a while to learn more of the Scene and Performance features. Good times, love this thing. The video below is a jam with the software by none other then mr Dataline.

More Sounds

So the setup is taking shape, chancing on some new quality audio assets gave me inspiration for an interesting format that lends itself to the APC 40 workflow I have been developing with Ableton Live.  A thought also crossed my mind to start developing a sample CD in the form of construction kits and one shot sounds, it may possibly lead to some revenue from all this work since there isn’t a strong techno scene locally and I do not plan on releasing arranged tracks under this project at the moment. Ill probably get around to a video of the performance next week some time, till then stay ebola free.

As time draws on the setup is evolving (mostly on the digital side at the moment). A new set of loops have been added on the Ableton side, some of my own and some from a new sound designer I have discovered. Most are around 2 bars in length and serve my loopy dark techno very well. I have made a quick 20 minute recording of the looped sounds ill be using, with a bit of keys at the start. It should get pretty interesting when I combine this with the modular synth, Rytm and iPad.

Live and Production

Production

My efforts this week have ramped up after thinking up a tight production schedule for the coming eight weeks leading up to the Andromeda festival.

Half way through my first EP for FutureForm and finished with Andromeda live set planning, Ive split my week into working on creating techno loops, collating sound assets that fit with the style, testing new equipment, jamming ideas and collaborating with a friend in Sydney.

Its tedious tying up the digital workspace, but my first week has been productive with 5 completed and exported sound beds to add to the collection. Ill also be testing a friends leap motion gestural controller for manipulating granular (granite) or synth (serum) sounds.
